Close Call in short

A 3D traffic racing game for Android. Weave through highway traffic and chain close calls into combos and nitro. 5 places, 14 original cars, 5 modes and 60 missions. Free, no in-app purchases, optional reward ads only, plays offline. For all ages (9+). Android 7.0 or later, played in landscape.

About the game

Pull onto the highway, find the gap and thread the needle. Every near miss counts!

Close Call is a 3D traffic racing game for the whole family. Weave through traffic at speed and earn points for close calls, for keeping above 100 km/h and for driving the oncoming lanes. Chain combos, fill your nitro bar and see how far you can go. Nothing to buy, ads only if you choose to watch one, and it plays offline.

Drive the highway

  • Pass cars and trucks with a hair to spare for close-call points
  • Chain close calls into a combo and fill the nitro bar
  • Stay above 100 km/h for bonus points
  • Take the oncoming lanes in Two-Way mode for double close calls
  • Scrape a guardrail and you only slow down, then carry on

Five places, day and night

  • Golden Hills: rolling farmland at sunset
  • Canyon Run: red desert mesas and dry bridges
  • Frost Pass: snowy pines on a slippery road
  • Rainy Coast: sea cliffs and a wet, shiny road
  • Neon City: a glowing night-time freeway with long tunnels
  • Most places have extra times of day and weather to unlock

Modes for every mood

  • Endless: four lanes, no finish line
  • Two-Way: two lanes each way, with oncoming traffic
  • Time Trial: race the clock through checkpoints
  • Free Ride: no score and no timer, just a relaxed cruise
  • Daily Challenge: one route for everyone, once a day
  • 60 missions in six chapters, with three stars to earn on each

14 cars, all yours to make

  • Unlock 14 original cars, from a tiny compact to a roaring hyper car
  • Upgrade speed, handling and braking, five levels each
  • Repaint with 24 paints in glossy, metallic, pearl, matte and chrome
  • Pick from 10 wheel designs, window tints and stripes

Controls that fit your thumbs

  • On-screen buttons, drag steering or tilt steering, your choice
  • Gas, brake and nitro stay under your right thumb
  • Auto-gas, left-handed layout and three camera views, including a hood view

Fair and friendly

  • No in-app purchases: every car, paint and place is earned by playing
  • Optional ads only: a short video you can choose to watch to keep driving after a crash or to double a run's cash, never during a drive
  • Plays offline, no internet needed for the full game
  • No accounts and no chat. Your progress stays on your phone
  • Optional online leaderboards, off unless you switch them on
  • Optional reminders, off unless you say yes
  • Kind words only: a crash is just a bump, and then you drive on
  • Reduced motion, sound, music, engine and vibration settings

Close Call is a game made for fun. Out in the real world, please always follow the rules of the road.

Questions and answers

Is Close Call free?

Yes. It's free to download and play, with no in-app purchases. Every car, paint, upgrade and place is earned by playing.

Does Close Call have ads?

Yes: optional reward videos you choose to watch, never during a drive. After a crash you can watch one to keep driving (instead of using cash), once per run, and on the results screen you can watch one to double that run's cash. "No thanks" is always there, there are no banners or pop-up ads, and the game is fully playable without ever watching an ad. For players under 18, and anyone who skips the age question, every ad request is marked child-directed or under the age of consent, is not personalised and asks for ads rated for all ages.

Does Close Call work offline?

Yes. The full game plays without internet. When you're online it checks for game updates, and the optional online leaderboards (off by default) use the connection.

Is Close Call safe for kids?

It's made for ages 9 and up and follows Google Play's Families policy. A crash is just a cartoon bump with sparks and nobody is ever hurt, there are no real car brands, and there's no chat, no accounts and nothing to buy. The only ads are optional reward videos a player chooses to watch (child-directed and not personalised for under-18s), and online leaderboards are optional and off by default.

How many levels does Close Call have?

None in the usual sense: the highway is endless. Instead there are 5 modes (Endless, Two-Way, Time Trial, Free Ride and a Daily Challenge), 5 places to drive and 60 missions in six chapters, with three stars to earn on each.

How do I get a high score in Close Call?

Drive above 100 km/h, pass traffic as close as you dare, keep your combo going and use nitro to chain more close calls. The oncoming lanes in Two-Way mode pay the most.

Can I steer by tilting the phone?

Yes. On-screen buttons are the default, and drag or tilt steering can be switched on in Settings.

Is there a car racing game that plays offline?

Close Call is a 3D traffic racing game that plays fully offline, with 14 original cars to unlock and repaint, 5 places and 5 modes, no purchases and ads only if you choose to watch one.

Where can I download Close Call?

On Google Play, for Android phones and tablets with Android 7.0 or later. The game is in development now; its Play page (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.callmissed.closecall) opens to everyone at launch. There is no iPhone or web version.

Who makes Close Call?

Close Call is made by SoFeat Games, the games label of Sharvil Mane, an individual developer in Pune, India. Questions go to support@callmissed.com.

What data does Close Call collect?

Very little: update checks send a random install ID that we don't store, and nothing else is kept on our server unless you switch on the optional online leaderboards (off by default), which share only a generated name and your scores. If you choose to watch an optional ad, Google AdMob receives the technical data an ad request carries, such as your IP address and device identifiers, and we receive none of it. The privacy policy at https://sofeat.com/games/close-call/privacy/ explains both.
